SANOFI AVENTIS
Health care and effective solutions: these are the pillars that sanofi-aventis and institutions have put in place together. The pharmaceutical group has chosen to play the role of "responsible citizen" in Italy and the rest of the world by adhering to public territorial logics to preserve the demand for health care, the sustainability of the health care system, commitment to patient protection, and access to medicines in any nation, regardless of its wealth. This may come to pass by intervening precisely in the most disadvantaged nations, where the overwhelming majority of 8 out of 10 people in the world live, according to statistics, with little or no health care. To this view, action will be taken to fight so-called “forgotten diseases” (like malaria, tubercolosis, or African trypanosomiasis), which constitute a serious public health problem in nations south of the equator.
In Italy, sanofi-aventis develops forms of partnership, exchange, and collaboration with institutions and scientific associations and patients in order to concentrate mutual efforts to improve public health care. Projects developed together with MS&L Italia are moving precisely in this direction: bringing all those involved face-to-face to generate, feed, and amplify contributions to the information system.
Interviews, conferences, and round tables will embrace all major health care issues: from scientific topics, like the prevention and treatment of malaria, to fundamental issues like the operating methods for the collaboration between public and private sectors aimed at reaching the common efficiency objectives that primarily benefit the citizen.
